White jeans are undoubtedly the best choice to wear during the hottest, stickiest summer days. However, if you’re not up to wearing the typical white jeans outfit, ie. combined with all-white or the same old, same old black-and-white combo, simply wear them with your favorite beige or earthy toned blazer.
It’s safe to say minimal doesn’t always equal black, white, and grey. It’s a major misconception. I’ve been convinced of this fact for years ever since I saw many fashion examples of garments in different colors (yes, even red!), which stay true to minimalism due to their immaculately clean lines and puristic shapes. If that still doesn’t convince you of this fact, then Destijl and Bauhaus architecture, graphic design, and art should, because they use primary colors or in other words stick to purism in color, not just in volumes and forms.
I don’t really know if the first examples of minimal style using earthy tones were something I saw from Max Mara years back, but nowadays you can see perfect examples of this soft minimal look from contemporary classic designer labels like Jil Sander (Resort 2019 is the perfect instance) and Joseph to up-and-coming brands like Shaina Mote, TSE, Ajaie Alaie, Staud, and Notion of Form who are also embracing warm hues and tonal beige and camels.
Either way, I can’t stress enough how much I love to combine earthy hues together (see here, here, here, here, here, and here), but also with white (as you can see here, here, here, and here). That’s why pairing white jeans with this beige linen blazer I can’t seem to stop wearing this summer was an obvious choice. To make the look more relaxed and add contrast in order to highlight the color of the blazer even more, I added these linen mules I bought last year for matchy-matchy and casual vibes.
