We’re finally making a very long due and very much needed beach vacation. Even though I love what I do and enjoy every moment of it, it can often be very stressful. Over the past year I developed some physical health issues due to it and I only feel better when I can relax a bit. However, nothing can replace a good and old-fashioned beach vacation to shut down completely (or almost).
This time next stop is Ibiza. Why Ibiza? We wanted to originally go to Santorini. In fact, over the past 10 years the Greek Islands have been on top of my bucket list. At the end we decided to go to Ibiza instead of Santorini, because Ibiza offers the kind of sandy white beaches that I love the most and that remind me the most of my favorite island in the Caribbean, which means to me total relaxation. Don’t get me wrong, the red and black volcanic beaches in Santorini are surely one of a kind and truly beautiful to experience, but the main problem with it is that staying in Oia or in the other North West towns of the island is what the whole experience is about and the beautiful beaches are in the exact opposite of the island, i.e. the South East. Therefore, at the end travelling from west to east all the time is not exactly what I would call relaxing. Nevertheless, we are still going to Santorini next year and probably also to Mykonos.
Ibiza’s and Formentera’s paradisiac beaches are probably the closest you get to the Caribbean in whole Europe. I can barely wait to be there.
What to pack for a beach vacation? For 6 days:
-1 one piece swimsuit
-2 pairs of everyday flat sandals, including water resistant ones or flip flops for the beach, and ones you can wear to walk around and explore
-1 pair of fancy midi block heeled sandals for the night
-2 going out dresses
-2 day/summer dresses
-2 pairs of cut off shorts
-2 off the shoulder and 2 everyday tops to mix and match with other bottoms
-1 pair of culottes
-1 midi skirt
Wishing you all an awesome weekend. x
