Outfit | On Comfort and Practicality

14. February 2014
Wearing: Nike Roshe Run Sneakers, Zara Coat(shop similar here and here), Cos Turtleneck(similar here), H&M and DIY jeans(get similar here), H&M Belt(buy similar here), H&M Beanie, and a Proenza Schouler Bag

The comfort and practicality factor in womenswear is becoming stronger season after season in catwalks and I am sure many of you have noticed. Long gone are the days when a woman was required to wear heels for everything and anything, and where a woman had to look pretty and femenine.
I don’t need to lecture you guys on feminism and women’s emancipation, but nowadays we can be thankful that we can borrow from the guys, throw in a pair of birks and still look chic and feminine in a different way. No longer do we have to please anyone but ourselves and fill an ornament role for the opposite sex, and thank goodness for that.
Of course, we all still love our heels from time to time and we don’t need to quit to ultrafemenine, seductive, and flirtatous looks, but let’s face it, it’s not a practical thing when it comes to do everyday chores.
Long oversized coats and sneakers has to be one of my favourite combinations for winter, because it’s just perfect for running errands and strolling downtown.
