Due to culottes being a wide piece of clothing, styling it with fitted tops or jackets is a must (see other examples of how I’ve styled culottes here and here). If your jacket or coat is too wide, the solution is to add a belt to it, which has been a big trend for the last couple of years. Hopefully, it will stay like that, since figure hugging silhouettes are universally flattering. Not that I don’t love my oversized coats and jackets, but adding a bit of femeninity to a look won’t hurt me.

Does the look still feel too wide? Balance proportions by adding a pair of high heels.

Wishing you all a happy hump day!
