Not your average pleated skirt, because why wear a whole one when you can just wear half of it? That’s what makes this sculptural piece so special and take distance from classic midi or pleated skirts. The half pleated detail makes it a sculptural garment and pair with a cropped jacket you create an interesting and feminine silhouette.
If I think of a pleated skirt outfit, it brings me back to my old schoolgirl days, where I didn’t wear them voluntarily, but as part of the obligatory everyday uniform my school required. Hence, I don’t have an overall good impression of them. However, when I saw this Massimo Dutti work of art and how the brand practically reinvented the garment in question, I didn’t hesitate to immediately click it on its way home.
I’ve put together a midi pleated skirt outfit by pairing it with a cropped jacket, so that the entire piece is visible and at the same time to create a flattering hourglass silhouette.
How about you? Are you into pleated skirts this season? How would you wear them?
Hoping you are all enjoying the holiday season. x
