A common misconception is to believe that minimal outfits have to be composed merely and exclusively of basics. While basic outfits can be minimal, not all basic outfits are, neither all minimal outfits have to be comprised only of basics. That’s why when I find a minimal and clear lined, yet playful garment, such as this one shoulder top from Jil Sander, a.k.a. the queen of all minimalist labels, I don’t think it twice, since I know it is a piece that can be worn in multiple ways. Pieces like this one are the ones that make an outfit so much more interesting, especially when minimal outfits can often border with boring and plain. Don’t get me wrong, since I am not stating simplicity has to be boring, all I am saying is that adding a dose of playfulness to an outfit doesn’t have to mean for it to lose its minimal integrity.
If you are also embracing this trend, then a simple one shoulder top outfit idea would be to pair it with culottes or wide leg trousers. Mini or midi skirts and jeans will also look great with it. For fall, layer your one shoulder top on top of a knit, and you will find yourself chanelling FW17 Burberry.
