The first thing that comes to mind when you think of how to wear ruffles is flamenco or kitschy, overly girly, and old-fashioned dresses and lace blouses. However, this element has been reinterpreted during the past seasons by designers such as Nicolas Ghesquière, J.W. Anderson, and Rosie Assoulin and integrated in clothing in a clean and modern way. By pairing a ruffled piece with a simple, yet sexy minimalist open top blouse and barely there sandals, you make the structured and dramatic detail be the focal point. So sayonara to ruffles as the linchpin of overly femenine style and hello to a great statement piece.
